Causes:
- DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) is full of ash
- Damaged DPF Pressure sensor
- Faulty exhaust gas temperature (EGT)
- EGT harness open or shorted
- EGT circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty mass air flow (MAF)/ intake air temperature (IAT) sensor
Symptoms:
- Loss of power in your engine
- The DPF light will appear on your dashboard
- Passive and active regeneration keep failing
- A pungent smell of diesel
- Your car seems to be releasing an excessive amount of smoke
Possible Solutions:
- DPF Replacement
- Check for faulty sensors, circuit and wiring issue and resolve immediately
- Clean the DPF properly
- PCM might need reprogramming
