Fault Code: P0475 Exhaust Pressure Control Valve Malfunction

Symptoms:

  • The check engine light

Causes:

  • A faulty exhaust back pressure valve
  • The exhaust back pressure valve is shorted out or open
  • Poor electrical connection on your exhaust back pressure valve

Possible Solutions:

  • Faulty connections
  • Test the solenoid and its circuits
  • If the solenoid is either shorted or open, you will need to replace the solenoid
  • Repair any faulty wiring
