Packaging Environmental  – Waste Disposal Environment Most of the packaging is widely recyclable. Appropriate disposal is crucial to minimise environmental impact. The packaging material must be disposed of and recycled responsibly. Low Low
Manual Handling & Installation Minor Cuts Logistic Service Providers, Installation Technicians Sharp or uneven edges may be evident on the product. Vigorous contact may result in minor cuts or abrasions. Cre should be taken when handling the product during shipment and installation. Always ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used. Low/Medium Low
Installation Minor burns Installation Technicians The component will quickly become hot  once the engine has started. Touching the product at operating temperatures with bare skin may result in contact burns. There should be no requirement to touch the product once installed correctly and the system is at operating temperatures. Regardless, always ensure combustible items are kept away from the product and ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used. Medium Low/Medium
Installation Fume Inhalation Installation Technicians External surface treatments may generate some minor smoke immediately after installation, once the engine is first started. Unless secondary surface contaminants are introduced, the smoking will not recur. The product must be installed by a competent technician in a well ventilated environment, ensuring correct tooling and diagnostic equipment are used throughout the installation process. Installation Fume Inhalation Installation Technicians Vehicle exhaust fumes can cause irritation to mucus membranes (eyes, nose, throat, respiratory tract, lungs). Prolonged exposure can be hazardous to health, especially in small or confined spaces. The product must be installed by a competent technician in a well ventilated environment, ensuring correct tooling and diagnostic equipment are used throughout the installation process. Fume extraction may be employed to vent any noxious gases away from the installation area. Medium Low
Operation Environmental  – Fume Inhalation Wider Environment Poor vehicle condition, adequate servicing, poor quality oils & fuels, poor installation and impact damage can all impede the performance of the product, leading to long term damage. A compromised pollution control device may not convert noxious gases as efficiently. Ensure the vehicle has been serviced in accordance with the Manufacturers schedule using approved parts and lubricants to ensure the vehicle is continually operating within optimum parameters. Medium Low
Operation Environmental  – Fire Hazard Wider Environment Vehicle exhausts systems are designed to run at high temperatures. Care must be taken when parking vehicles over combustible materials such as dry grass, especially during or immediately after Diesel Particulate Filter regeneration. In hot, dry environments, be vigilant about where the vehicle is parked. Do not a hot vehicle unattended when parked over or around combustible materials including dry grass etc. Low/Medium Low
End of Normal Service life Environmental: Fume Inhalation Wider Environment Although the product is robust, it is not designed to maintain functionality indefinitely. Performance may be reduced once the product reaches the end of its intended lifespan. Ensure the vehicle has been serviced in accordance with the Manufacturers schedule using approved parts and lubricants to ensure the vehicle is continually operating within optimum parameters. Ensure periodic testing is undertaken in alignment with local regulation. Ensure the product is replaced once it reaches the end of its intended service life. Low Low
Disposal Environmental: End of Life Disposal Wider Environment The product contains no Refractory Ceramic Fibre (RCF) nor any Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC). Regardless, the product may contain combustion generated contaminants that can pollute the environment unless correct disposal procedures are undertaken. Please ensure that the product is disposed of appropriately within the guidelines set by local regulation. Low Low
